West Somerset Free Press

Jeff Cox (1961-1970) has just published a book on the local weekly newspaper, the West Somerset Free Press, which his family - Old Queenians stretching back to the 1880s - ran for 120 years. The West Somerset Free Press celebrates its 150th anniversary in July. Reunion of Friends

A reunion was held on Saturday 19th June 2010 at Queen's for the leavers of 1970, the event attracted over twenty OQs and their guests. The evening was organised by Stephen Penny with the support of others in the year group and of course Kim Boalch, the schools Alumni Relations Manager. OQs had travelled from far and wide, South Africa, Mexico, Canada but to mention a few.

Hugh Takes The Helm

Hugh Francis (1964-76), OQ and member of Queen’s Lodge, took part in the London Marathon last year, raising £4,000 for the Rona Sailing Project to which he has given a week of his annual leave each year for the past 35 years.

Exeter Christmas Dinner 2009

A record number of 56 OQ and Guests sat down to this years dinner held as usual at The Exeter Golf and Country Club.

Oxford and Oxford Brookes Reunion

On 24th November, the OQs of Oxford reunited for an evening of good food, drink and company.
We had a positive turn out of about 15 with both Oxford University and Brookes represented fairly evenly - including Chris Alcock as our honorary student guest.
